The light from Lochbuie Elementary School’s atrium dome shines high above the houses that make up the supportive community surrounding the school. Lochbuie Elementary School, located in the town of Lochbuie, is just east of Brighton. Of the current 272 students in 3rd through 5th grades, there is a great sense of pride for the school which opened in the fall of 2002. Students and staff together make up a positive, supportive environment focused on high expectations for all, both academically and behaviorally. Professional development is highly supported and academic success is the target for all students. Teachers study and utilize highly effective instructional strategies in literacy and receive numerous compliments on the warm and rich learning environment found within the walls of the newly updated elementary school in the district. Lochbuie Elementary is proud to be recognized as a Lighthouse School through the Leader in Me program. The Leader in Me is reflected in the school's culture of personal initiative and self-responsibility among students. Students are genuinely invested in making a difference in their local community.
